Privacy policy

eduAcute Pty Ltd ("eduAcute", "we") sells revision books, online courses and the EMate app. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and the EMate app, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Your name and email address, when you buy something or we create your account. We use your email address to log you in, so there is no password to store.
What you bought and when, including your tax invoices and how long your access lasts.
Your clinical rank and specialty, only if you choose to give them at checkout. They help us understand who uses our materials.
Your phone type (iPhone or Android) when you buy EMate, so we can send the right activation code.
In the EMate app, an identifier of your phone, so each subscription code works on one phone only.
Messages you send us, such as support emails.

We do not collect your postal address or phone number, and we never see or store your card details.

How we use it

To give you access to what you bought, and to stop it at the end of your access period.
To email you login links, receipts, tax invoices, EMate activation codes and a reminder before your access ends.
To answer your questions and resolve problems with an order.
To keep the records Australian tax law requires.
To protect our materials. When you read one of our books, each page shows your name, email address and the date. This stays on your screen; it is not stored.

We may also email you a discount for renewing or for a related product. Every reminder and offer email has a link to stop them, and stopping them does not affect your access, receipts or login links. We do not send newsletters, and we never sell or rent your information.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers, who may only use your information to provide their service to us:

Stripe processes card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments. Stripe receives your payment details directly and may store them outside Australia, including in the United States. See Stripe's privacy policy.
SiteGround hosts this website, its database and our email, on servers in Singapore.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Cookies

This website sets a small number of cookies needed to keep you logged in and to protect forms from misuse. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, or analytics services.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and access records while you have an account with us. We keep order and tax invoice records for at least five years, as Australian tax law requires.

Your choices

See or correct your information: email us and we will tell you what we hold and fix anything that is wrong.
Stop reminders and offers: use the link at the foot of any reminder or offer email, or email us.
Delete your account: email us and we will remove your name and email address. We keep order and invoice records for the period tax law requires, without your name attached where the law allows.

Security

Everything you send to and receive from our website travels over a secure (HTTPS) connection.
There are no passwords to steal. You log in with a link or code we email you, which works only once and only for a short time.
Only eduAcute staff can see customer details.

Email support@eduacute.com.au. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
